IMSA is a cutting-edge research institution that was founded in 2019 with the general support of the Simons Foundation. In the fall of 2022, we were considered for a Frost type of institute by the provost’s committee. Additionally, permanent space arrangements were discussed. During the last ten months we have brought our activities to much higher level. We will briefly report on this.

Colombian National Mathematics Awards 2023
The winners of the National Mathematics Award 2023 were: the professor of the Department of Mathematics of UNICAUCA, Carlos Alberto Trujillo and the professor Bernardo Uribe Jongbloed, of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the UniNorte of Barranquilla.
Jaqueline Godoy Mesquita won the “Science, She Says!” Award
On March 06, 2023, Jaqueline Godoy Mesquita won the “Science, She Says!” award from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Padova, Italy. She received this prize on behalf of the entire South and Central America and Caribbean Region for her outstanding and impacting advancements in the field of mathematics.
